The MCHD is participating in year 2 of a Multi State Learning Collaborative for quality improvement and workforce development. The National Network of Public Health Institutes and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation sponsor it through collaboration with ISDH and Purdue University. Our staff members are currently involved in a monthly training regarding the 10 essential Services of Public Health and evaluating our readiness for accreditation.
With our participation comes $4,000 to use for quality improvement related activities.

The Monroe County Health Department will be receiving $4,000 for participating in the Multi State Learning Collaborative. We respectfully request that these funds be appropriated into the new fund 0800, MLC and line 30.0001.

In an effort to maintain and build cash balance in the health fund, the Health Dept submitted a request from ISDH to use money from the LHMF cash balance this year. The $73,999.98 represents 6 months of the contract MCHD has with Community Health Services for public health nursing services. The Health Dept requests an additional appropriation in order to follow through on this plan.

This is the fourth and final year of the Strategic Prevention Framework State Incentive Grant. Monroe County is viewed as a leader among the SPF SIG funded communities and has performed beyond the expected benchmarked activities. The grant achievements to date include:
- Formed partnership with Southern Indiana Pediatrics - Creating stand alone brochure on the brain from ages 13-25 & implications for parenting.
Brochure will be disseminated via medical providers in our county.
- Evidence based program known as “CMCA” is running successfully in partnership with the DOE Alcohol grant held by the schools.
- “Not in Our House” social marketing campaign including a tv commercial, billboards and ads.
- Created a new website with information and links for parents.
- Supported 4 middle school anti drug coalitions and their school based education activities.
- Published an epidemiological profile of our county each year of the grant for use by county agencies. Information in the profile helps agencies write for grants.
- Collaborated with the Indiana University Alcohol Commission on university alcohol policies and practices.

District Manager
The SWCD Board would like the name of the administrative position changed from District Coordinator to District Manager. There is no change in the duties, responsibilities, classification or pay; job title only. This title more accurately reflects the scope of responsibilities of this position. This is forwarded with the recommendation of the PAC.
